D. Todd Ferguson is the Chief Executive Officer of JT Stratford. Todd entered the investment and insurance industry in 1995, and currently holds the AIFA® designation as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst. Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst™ designees are the few people in the country with knowledge in both a prudent investment process and assessment principles, qualifications that are becoming increasingly desired and demanded by both the industry and regulators.
He specializes in wealth management for high-net-worth individuals, corporate retirement plans, physicians and their practices. He also has extensive experience and expertise in fixed-income portfolio management.
Todd was awarded the Five Star Wealth Manager award by Five Star Professional. Five Star Award candidates are evaluated against 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria such as client retention rates, client assets administered, firm review and a favorable regulatory and complaint history.
He and his wife reside in Gainesville, Georgia, with their son. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, Financial Services Institute and the Rotary Club of Gainesville. He is a past chairman of the board of directors for Rehabilitation Industries of Northeast Georgia. Todd was previously a member of the Gainesville Jaycees where he served as the 60th President and received Jaycee of the Year award. Todd is a member of Christ Place Church where he serves as a deacon and member of the finance committee.
Todd graduated from Brenau University with a BS degree in accounting. He holds the following federal and state Licenses: General Securities Representative license; Uniform Securities Agent State Law license; Uniform Investment Advisor Law license; Life, Accident, Sickness and Variable Products Insurance license.
Anthony Shope is a multi-generation Hall County native whose connection to the community runs deep. He and his wife, Shelley, have been married for 30 years and have two young-adult children. Anthony attended high school in Hall County and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of North Georgia.
Upon graduation, he worked for one of the nation’s largest poultry companies for 18 years in accounting and financial capacities. He was then the Firm Administrator for a large CPA firm for six years, and for the last eight years he worked as the Chief Operating Officer and shareholder for one of the largest technology providers in the Southeast.
Anthony has a passion for people in the workplace as well as in life. He finds satisfaction in helping employees reach their ideal role in an organization. He has successfully grown businesses over the last 15 years with the simple principle of listening to, learning from, and leading employees. Anthony believes fully engaging employees is crucial for business growth because it promotes an environment of loyalty, trust, and job contentment that ultimately leads to success for the employee and the organization.
Anthony enjoys spending time on Lake Lanier, traveling to new destinations, and being with family. He is a graduate of Leadership Hall County and a past Advisor Committee member to the Youth Leadership Hall program. He has served on the Board of the Gateway Domestic Violence Center and Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK). Anthony was also honored to represent UNG in their advertising campaign featuring 10 alumni whose leadership skills have made a positive impact on the region, nation, and world. He is a member and deacon of Lakewood Church in Gainesville, GA.
Amanda Bruner is the Chief Compliance Officer for JT Stratford. Amanda joined the firm in January 2014. She oversees portfolio accounting, monitors trading, prepares regulatory filings, and is responsible for ongoing monitoring of all compliance policies and procedures. Amanda graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.
Amanda is originally from Augusta, GA but now resides in Gainesville with her husband Nick and their two children. She is an active member at Gainesville First United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, Braves games, and spending time with her family.
Mac began his professional money management career at Merrill Lynch over 20 years ago and his current role at JT Stratford is to serve as the Chief Equity Strategist. During his career he had many distinguished accomplishments and earned many awards. Perhaps his most recognized achievement is earning the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2003.
His investment philosophy focuses on finding companies with high quality fundamentals which are trading at attractive valuations. His process of finding these investments involves using a top-down meets bottom-up approach and viewing the markets through a behavioral finance perspective. This allows him to see, not only the fundamental data of the markets, but also how investors are reacting to those fundamentals.
Mac is a long-standing Board member of The First Tee of Atlanta, an organization which teaches life skills to kids using the game of golf as a platform. He is also a member of the Dean’s Council at his alma mater, Bowling Green State University. At BG, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a focus on finance and capital markets. Additionally, he is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts and the CFA Institute.
Mark E. Gibbs is a Managing Director for JT Stratford. Mark specializes in providing comprehensive financial planning services for high- and middle-net-worth individuals as well as for those individuals just getting started. Providing a financial “road map” to individuals and couples is oftentimes the first step in providing the necessary tools to become a successful investor.
Mark’s experience and education have prepared him well for managing investments and providing personal financial planning advice. He spent over 13 years as a controller for Flowers Foods before opening up his own successful fee-only financial planning practice in 2004. In 2015 Mark merged his financial planning practice with JT Stratford to take advantages of the synergies both firms provide.
Mark currently resides in Gainesville with his wife and four children. As a husband and busy father of two boys and two girls, he’s been budgeting, saving and investing for years. He knows the challenges of funding college educations, saving for retirement, managing investments, selecting the right insurance, and developing estate plans.
Mark is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) as well as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), holds an MBA with a concentration in finance, and has a Master’s Certificate in personal financial planning, both from Georgia State University. He serves on the board of the Buford North Gwinnett Rotary club and is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) as well as the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA). Mark and his family attend 12 Stone Church in Buford, Georgia, and in his free time, Mark likes to travel, spend time at the beach and attend his kids' sporting events.
Gregory C. Wilson is a Managing Director for JT Stratford in Braselton, GA. Greg specializes in working with clients that are age 50 and over through comprehensive Financial and Income planning with an emphasis on asset management. He believes that people in the retirement phase of their life want to focus on their lives, not the day to day management of their assets and senior insurance needs.
Greg began his career in asset management, financial planning, and retirement strategies in 1996, and currently holds the AIF® designation as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, and the CIS™ designation as a Certified Income Specialist. The AIF® designation signifies knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care. The CIS™ designation conveys the ability to provide advanced guidance on a wide range of investments that can provide regular income and the preservation of principal.
As an Independent Fee-Only Advisor, Greg's focus is to offer financial advice in a Fiduciary capacity acting in the best interest of his clients. He doesn't sell any products or proprietary investments of any kind. Being attentive and client centered are not just catch phrases – they are commitments to his clients.
Greg resides in Flowery Branch, Georgia with his wife of 35 years. He is a current member of the Financial Services Institute, Celebration Church, the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, and an active member of the Rotary Club of Braselton for over 10 years. In his spare time, Greg enjoys working around the house and spending time with his family.

Gary is a Managing Director at JT Stratford. He has over 22 years of experience in the field of personal finance and investments and is a Registered Financial Consultant® (RFC) and AIF®. Certified Financial Fiduciary® (CFF) is a professional designation for financial professionals, namely those who have successfully completed a certification and training process established by NACFF and AFEA (The American Financial Education Alliance), and who agree to uphold the highest moral, ethical and fiduciary standards of service when providing investment advice to potential and existing clients. The AIF® designation signifies knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care.

Gary entered the financial services industry in 2000. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration from Thiel College in 1993. He used sports as one of his passions to get into and excel in college. He was one of very few who earned a letter in both Football and Track all four years, and was selected as 1st team All-Conference and nationally ranked as a punter his freshman year.
After college, he enlisted in the US Army as a Military Police Officer, and held the rank of Staff Sergeant/E-6. During his military service, he was assigned to the personal staff of the FORSCOM Commanding General (4-star) for 4 ½ of his 6-year enlistment where he served as driver and personal security to the General.
Gary specializes in comprehensive financial planning and wealth management by working with individuals to design personalized retirement planning, tax-advantaged investment strategies, and insurance planning. In helping people transition from corporate life to retirement, Gary likes working on the same side of the table as his clients to earn their business each and every day. He considers his clients to be his 2nd family and has the passion to provide guidance and service to them while establishing a lifelong relationship over many years and generations to come.

In addition to his Financial Practice, Gary has always had a passion to work with youth through sports. He enjoys coaching youth football and baseball to provide the boys a positive role model and mentor through the game and he hopes for the same for the youth he now mentors. He believes that this gave him an opportunity to go to college and further his education. Gary is very active in his church, Chamber of Commerce and Community.

Bryan M. Hogan is a Managing Director with JT Stratford. Bryan entered the investment and insurance industry in 2000 and currently focuses on employer-sponsored programs such as group insurance benefits, 401(k) plans and other tax-deferred plans. Bryan believes in the Golden Rule: “Treat People like you would like to be treated.”
Bryan graduated from Gainesville College and the University of Georgia with degrees in psychology and business administration. He currently resides in Cumming, Georgia, with his wife, Amy, and two children, Sydney and Laurie.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, an occasional 5K or mud run and spending time with friends and family. Bryan is active in his community serving as a deacon and the church treasurer at Salem Baptist Church in Forsyth County. Bryan is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville.

Travis Echols is a Managing Director for JT Stratford at the Cumming, Georgia location. Travis specializes in helping people who are in or near retirement, who are optimistic but cautious, and whose complexity typically involves assets of $500,000 or more. Travis has been helping people with their retirement for over 20 years. His careful attention to risk and taxes makes him the perfect fit for conservative-minded people who have saved all their lives so they can retire with confidence.
Before starting his financial planning career, he was an engineer for Rockwell Missile Systems, Boeing, and ARRIS for over 19 years, having a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Travis began his financial adviser career with American Express Financial Advisers, then moved to Wachovia Securities. In 2004, he started Echols Financial Services, a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA). With the significant growth of the business, in 2022, Travis partnered with JT Stratford (RIA) to continue to provide superior financial planning, tax planning, and investment services with a more fortified client support team.
Travis holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®) designation from the Denver College for Financial Planning, having completed a course of study encompassing pre- and post-retirement needs, asset management, estate planning and the entire retirement planning process using models and techniques from real client situations. All designees have agreed to adhere to Standards of Professional Conduct and are required to renew their designation every two-years by completing 16 hours of continuing education, reaffirming adherence to the Standards of Professional Conduct and complying with self-disclosure requirements. Travis is also enrolled in the College of Financial Planning’s Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program.
Travis is also a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and a member in good standing with the Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA). SCSA is an international organization that has trained more than 20,000 professionals to meet the changing needs of a growing senior population. As a CSA, Travis participates in continuing education that emphasizes ethical business practices.
Travis is an eighth-generation Forsyth County resident. He lives in Cumming with his wife. Travis is a member of First Redeemer Church. He enjoys teaching Christian apologetics and theology and has taught at several churches in the Forsyth County area over the last 30 years.
Hunter Parker is a Financial Research Analyst for JT Stratford. Hunter joined the company in June 2021. He works closely with the portfolio committee and is responsible for conducting due diligence and in-depth fundamental analysis on current and potential security holdings, quarterly performance updates on the portfolios, and completing various special projects.
Hunter graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Finance degree. Hunter currently resides in Flowery Branch, Georgia, and actively attends Northlake Baptist Church. In his spare time, Hunter enjoys watching sports, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
Courtney Tyner is an Associate Planner for JT Stratford. Courtney joined the company in June 2021 and works in a supporting role with our advisors to prepare financial plans and provide service to clients. She is currently enrolled in the Certified Financial Planner™ Program with the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and is working to obtain her CFP® designation.
Courtney graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance. Courtney currently resides in Gillsville, Georgia, with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys running 5ks, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Amber Stuart is the Client Relations Specialist for JT Stratford. Amber joined the company in March 2020 and is responsible for fostering client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. Ed L. Robins is a Managing Principal in JT Stratford’s Winston-Salem, North Carolina, office. He specializes in comprehensive financial planning with an emphasis on asset management, Retirement Planning and Insurance Planning.
Ed entered the financial services industry in 1981. Early on, he developed an interest in and passion for serving a client’s total needs through financial planning. As a result, his focus has been on helping clients achieve a lifetime of goals. Maintaining a long-term trusted relationship is his goal for every client relationship.
A native of Winston-Salem, Ed is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned both the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. He is a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and the Financial Services Institute.
Ed was a partner in Colhoun, Robins, Davenport from 1997 until the recent merger with JT Stratford.
Ed has been married for 32 years and has two daughters. He is an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem serving in numerous leadership positions. He has volunteered and served on the boards of several community organizations, as well as his daughters’ schools. He enjoys traveling and relaxing with his family, sports, and most forms of exercise, especially running.
Ed holds life and health insurance licenses and series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses.
James Davenport is a managing principal in JT Stratford’s Winston-Salem, North Carolina, office. He has been employed in the financial services industry since 1987 and has focused his efforts – and his education – on providing comprehensive financial planning, on a fee basis, to his clients. He is an active portfolio manager for individual investor’s accounts, and he has become a specialist in the area of alternative investments.
James is also an insurance specialist focusing on the areas of life insurance, long-term care insurance and disability Insurance. In addition, he actively helps companies manage their retirement plans, and prides himself on providing extensive education to the participants and hands-on support to the plan sponsors.
James has built his practice on several fundamental principles:
(1) The client’s goals and objectives, time horizon and risk tolerance must be reviewed and discussed when making any type of financial decision.
(2) Any advice provided is always focused on doing what is in the client’s best interest.
(3) Utilizing good “common sense” is the number one objective when developing any recommendation for meeting client goals and objectives.
(4) Education is essential in any advisor-client relationship. With the proper amount of discussion and client education, most individuals can feel good about making sound financial decisions. Being educated and understanding the pertinent facts about any financial decision is critical to making the right financial decisions! If you can’t get your arms around a concept, procedure or financial product – walk away from it! James is determined to make certain that his clients feel comfortable with any financial decisions they make.
(5) Ongoing communication and face-to-face meetings are necessary for maintaining a healthy and productive advisor-client relationship. James believes in communicating with his clients on a regular basis and is committed to meeting with his clients, face-to-face – at least on an annual basis. This type of advisor-client relationship helps ensure that everyone is “on the same page” and focused on meeting the clients’ goals and objectives.

Ed D. Colhoun is a managing director in JT Stratford’s Winston-Salem, North Carolina, office. Ed specializes in advising individuals on investments and insurance, and advising employers on group benefit plans. In his thirty plus years of assisting clients, he has always remained a servant to his client’s issues and views service as the mainstay for this continued success.
Ed was a partner in Colhoun, Robins, Davenport from 1997 until the recent merger with JT Stratford. Then, as now, Ed enlists his partners’ expertise to ensure each client receives the best solutions. “Because our practice requires a wide array of knowledge to advise our diverse clientele, we are able to rely on each partner’s specific areas of expertise and attempt to bring into focus a future for our clients.”
Ed holds numerous industry designations such as ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) and CASL (Chartered Advisor for Senior Living), along with insurance licenses (life & health), and securities registrations (series 6, 63, 65, & 7).
Ed’s family has and continues to provide the backbone for his life. He lives with his wife of 32 years in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His three adult children are expanding their horizons in medicine, physical therapy and teaching, although vacations and holidays always find the growing family reunited and enjoying each other’s company. He remains active in his community and church serving on various boards and volunteering in organizations. During what free time he has, Ed enjoys tennis, fishing and hunting.
Carter Lievens is an Investment Advisor Representative in JT Stratford’s Winston Salem, North Carolina, office. He has worked as a Tax Accountant assisting clients who have been audited by the IRS. He is passionate about financial planning and helping clients achieve their financial goals.
Carter Graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Accounting. He also earned and maintains an Enrolled Agent (EA) Designation so that he may represent his taxpayers before the IRS.
Carter has been married since 2019 and is expecting his first child in December of 2020. Carter and his wife live in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He enjoys traveling with his family, reading, and staying active by running. He and his wife have been active involved with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF).
Carter maintains an Enrolled Agent (EA) Designation, a life insurance producer license, and holds his Series 65 license.
Tracy L. Johnson is the Office Manager for JT Stratford – Winston-Salem branch. Tracy joined the company in 2003. As the Office Manager she is primarily responsible for daily operations of the office, including onboarding new client relationships, communicating with custodians and general account services issues, as well as technology support.
Tracy is originally from Rochester, MN but now resides in Winston-Salem, NC with her husband, Tim, and their three teenage sons. Tracy is an active member of WSFirst Assembly church and volunteers in the nursery, as well as volunteers with Salem Pregnancy Center and the Mount Tabor High School Marching Spartans. She enjoys travelling with her family and dogs, listening to and playing live music and baking delicious cheesecakes.
Johnnie has been with JT Stratford since December of 2016 and is the Client Services Manager for the Winston-Salem office. In her role as Client Services Manager she assists Ed Robins, Ed Colhoun and James Davenport in preparing for client meetings, processing and managing client service requests, and fielding client inquiries.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Marketing from High Point University. Johnnie attends United Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She resides in Tobaccoville, NC with her husband Derrick, their son, Seth and Labrador, Nutmeg. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working out and riding motorcycles.
